Welcome

Welcome to the Pointhouse B&B — an intimate hosted experience within our oceanfront home.

When staying with us, you are guests not only of the property, but of our household. We believe hospitality is personal. Breakfast is thoughtfully prepared. Recommendations are tailored. Conversations unfold naturally — or not at all, if privacy is your preference.

Your private suite offers comfort and retreat, while the shared spaces of the home provide panoramic views and a sense of connection to the sea that few places can match.

Whether you join us for one restorative night or several unhurried days, we hope you feel both cared for and completely at ease.

Your Hosts,
Heather & Bob Newman

All other waterfront areas, including the point rock, decks, and spa gardens surrounding the main Pointhouse are reserved exclusively for B&B and Lido Spa guests.

Dock & Float

A 30’ seasonal float (May- Sept) and ramp structure allows easy access to the water for swimmers, kayakers, paddle boards, boats and even float planes in the right conditions. Orientation and liability waivers required for use.

Trails

Sargeant Bay Provincial Park is basically next door. There is a public beach access adjacent to our neighbours at 7777 Kenyon. The park offers remarkable diversity and habitat for nature appreciation, recreation, and conservation.

Waterfront Safety

Rocky and log-jammed shoreline areas can be slippery, especially when wet. Please proceed with caution.

Rural Property Systems & Environmental Stewardship

Septic System

All accommodations on the Pointhouse estate share one septic system.

Flush toilet paper only. A bin is provided for feminine products, wipes, tissues, and paper towels. Please follow posted signage. Careful use prevents costly and disruptive failures.

Garbage

Garbage is collected every two weeks (Wednesday).

Please place only non-recyclable, non-compostable items in the garbage. All food attractants must be secured between pickups in the wildlife-resistant shipping container near the beach path.

Compost

Compost is collected weekly.

Food scraps, fish bones, and soft shell items may be included. Seafood shells (crab, prawn, oyster) may be returned to the sea. Please avoid contamination.

Recycling

Recycling is sorted and transported by your hosts to the community recycling centre.

Please rinse containers and remove food residue. Food-contaminated items are rejected at the depot and must be re-sorted by hand.

Water

Fresh water comes from reservoirs with limited capacity. Conservation is always encouraged especially in our dry summer months with additional measures sometimes required if drought conditions persist for extended periods or seasons. Please use water thoughtfully.

Wildlife Awareness

This is an active wildlife area. Bears, deer, raccoons, coyotes, cougars, otters, bobcats, and eagles are commonly present.

Wildlife and pets do not mix. Please supervise children and pets and avoid leaving food or attractants outdoors.

Sustainability

Caring for the land and water that surround us is central to the Pointhouse experience. Thoughtful design, responsible operations, and ongoing stewardship help us reduce our environmental impact while protecting the natural beauty of Sargeant Bay.

The Pointhouse has been certified by GreenStep Solutions since 2015 and achieved Gold status in 2017 under standards aligned with the Global Sustainable Tourism Council.

You can learn more about our approach—and simple ways guests can help—on our Sustainability page and in our Responsible Visitor Charter. 🌿
