A popular pastime particularly in spring and fall when a whole host of fungi pop up in the forest and fields paying delicious dividends for the observant and knowledgeable rambler.

Foraging for edible mushrooms, feasting and information on treasures from the forest is the theme of the annual fall SHROOM festival each October. Join the limited registration foray to collect interesting specimens. Attend the festival events and displays during the day, then dine at one of the many local restaurants featuring mushrooms specialties or return to the Pender Harbour Community Hall in the evening to hear mycology experts.
