Gazing outside this morning as the resident seals floated peacefully in the sunny, calm waters surrounding the Pointhouse it was hard to believe the whole human world was in turmoil, at least above sea level.
We want to assure you that, now and always, the health and safety of our guests, our communities and hospitality team members, is the top priority for us.
We are closely following the guidance and advice from the Public Health Agency of Canada, the Centre for Disease Control, the World Health Organization, and other global and provincial health and tourism agencies to help flatten the curve of COVID-19.
We believe we have been diligent and proactive in amping up our already robust cleaning and sanitation protocols however we now know this is not the time to travel even though we’d all like a break from this all too scary new reality. Please stay home and keep yourself and others safe.
Our B&B operations are currently suspended until further notice. Our vacation rental homes, Aerie, Annex and Studio ISO being private, detached and self-catering will remain open as they are naturally self-isolating. We will support guests in whatever ways we can for those already staying or need a safe place of retreat.
Travel is, and should be, a joyous experience, including the anticipation before the actual trip and the explorations and memories once at the destination. Anxiety about illness either personally or for loved ones, along with a constantly shifting travel landscape, defeats that joy.
For affected guests with bookings between Mar18 to April 18th that wish to cancel before check in we will refund their deposits less the cancellation fee detailed on your booking invoice. For those that prefer to postpone their Sunshine Coast visit till a more joyous time we are offering a gift certificates for the full deposit amount good for future travel. We will be reassessing our policies as circumstance evolve for existing reservations beyond April18.
If your booking is through Vrbo or another third party we are happy to help you request a refund inclusive of the service fees you initially paid. Hopefully you will book directly with us at pointhouse.ca when travel travel restrictions are lifted and the threat of the virus is past.
