Our Chefs

All our chefs are accomplished professionals with an extensive knowledge of a variety of cuisines.This unique and special service can be added to your stay at any of our accommodations.
Enjoy the sunset from the Aerie or Annex deck, or relax in front of the living room fire while the chef creates culinary magic in the kitchen then serves you a lovely 3-course gourmet dinner prepared especially for you ( clean-up included). Chef will even serve the wine you provide. A variety of menu choices are offered.

Culinary passion and perfectionism

Executive Chef Alan Barnes is synonymous with culinary passion and perfectionism in every endeavour he pursues. Born and raised in England, Alan began his formal culinary training at age 17 and graduated from the City and Guilds of London Institute in England. In 1973 he realized his dream and moved to Canada. In his 38 years of experience in the hospitality industry, both in England and Canada, you will find Four Season Hotels, Delta Hotels as well as Hollyburn Country Club in West Vancouver and Lord Jim’s Resort Hotel on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia in his curriculum vitae.

The personal chef business has grown to serve weddings, corporate events, seasonal functions and always adds THE SPARKLE TO ANY SPECIAL OCCASION.

Private Chef Services for all Occasions

Growing up in Northern BC with a 1 acre family garden growing fruits and vegetables inspired a lifelong love of cooking. After dedicating himself to that love for over 18 years in some of the fanciest and trendiest restaurants in Vancouver, John has moved to the Sunshine Coast for a more sustainable lifestyle. Whether it be tasty healthy grub to fuel downhill mountain bikers at the new Coast Gravity Park or a fine dining experience at the Pointhouse, John’s food is always a treat.

I thrive off using healthy and local ingredients and take great pride in creating exciting food time after time. I enjoy creating a custom menu to pair well with your event.
